Find Care & Housing
Senior centers are a great place to meet other folks. When my mom was widowed, she found it a good place to meet new friends. Best wishes.

Reeves, I checked your profile but you didn't give us any information :( It all depends on where you live and how close to you are to county run senior centers. The one in my area has a vary of activities were you can meet people, such as bridge/poker, movies, etc. And the area has senior bus transportation.

You can also check with the county agency on aging to see if there could be a good match for doing volunteer work. Great way to meet new people.

Mr. Reeves, whether or not you can find friendships is pretty much up to you. People will not show up at your door. Get out. If you like to read, join book clubs at your library or a large bookstore like Barnes & Noble. If you like to fish, seek out local fishing charters. If you like to cook, join a class at a local cooking school. If you’re into exercise, join a program at your local Y. Most cities have Senior Citizen activities. Call your local Area Agency on Aging and ask about any in your area. Get the idea?

Be accepting and friendly. Stay away from discussing politics or religion and if there are women present in any groups, keep your conversations and remarks clean and non-sexual. Until you are certain you’re part of a group, keep what could be controversial opinions to yourself. Present yourself as well-groomed and attired. Don’t force the issue and seem too eager for companionship, especially a romantic one. “Read the room” before you jump into any group.

Good luck. I hope you can find something that interests you.
