Find Care & Housing
Dear Lisa,

I'm not sure if you are looking for an income from the family member or from the state. If you are looking from the state, I would call the local office and see what if any programs are available in your area.

Lisa, the vast majority of grown children do not get paid for being a caregiver unless that family member can pay you from their own pocket. You would need to draw up an employee contract.

Otherwise, have the family member apply for Medicaid [which is different from Medicare]. Some States will pay a family member to be a caregiver but please note the pay will be very minimal.
