Find Care & Housing
No. That money no longer belongs to the parent OR the child.
That money now belongs to a trust.

It is one of the horrible things about these Trusts. I loathe them.

Do see an attorney to find out for certain if there is any way to help this poor senior that thought the best use o/her lifetime savings to give it to his kids, and not his own care.
Will the government now provide? Sure. Minimally, if the timing of the making of the trust was "right".

I am so sorry. What a tragedy. If you are the child who stands to inherit all this money, and have already sufficient wealth, then to me it would be honorable for YOU to provide care knowing this money would be coming to you. However, if you have a family that may not be an option.
See an attorney for your options.
