dapad6972, each State is different when it comes to Medicaid, thus the reason why whenever someone moves from one State to another, they need to reapply for Medicaid. Each State has their own rules, regulations, and programs.

So don't be surprised if a program your Mom had in New York is not available in Colorado..... there could be other programs available that weren't available in New York. With Federal budget cuts on the horizon, keep your fingers crossed that Medicaid isn't reduced.

You would reapply since Medicaid varies from state to state, not like Medicare.

First, how old is she?
Second..what service does she need that Medicaid pays for in NY?

It should not be a big issue

I am in Colorado. I can help you with the info...but be much more detailed concerning her needs and where those needs will be provided for.
