My father, 79, is a resident of the memory care unit at a nearby ALF. He struggles with dementia, Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's related psychosis. For the most part his care has been fine but I have had some concerns about staff behavior and items missing from his room. The facility's administration has agreed to let me put a camera in his room, providing my father agrees and that there is no audio recording. Does anyone have recommendations as far as brands, models, placement? Thanks.

Our family uses Google Home to oversee my mom's care.

We also use Ring products. Both are satisfactory.

I don't think you can go wrong with any in-home camera. It has been a real eye opener and invaluable tool to be able to improve care for my mom with dementia.

Go to the search symbol at the top of the page near your name. 🔍

enter the word cameras.

A list of articles and questions will come up of previous posters.

I found using cameras helpful but my purchase was years ago and I haven’t used them at all in several years. I bought mine at Costco for ease of return if needed as well as the price point.

I remember now that I bought Arlo wireless and later Blink was recommended. The batteries were an issue with the Arlo for me at that time. Which ever you choose do your research.

Marco, the internet is full of systems to look at and judge just what you may want. You can also speak with security systems.

One thing I will just mention that I read lately in The Week Magazine is that Camera systems that are connected to internet (and which aren't these days) are open to hacking and people using photos collected off them. Never occurred to me.

Best of luck finding what works for you, and if you find the ideal answer, your posting about it here would be so helpful; we are learning from one another.

I hope someone on Forum has better info for you than I do.
