Find Care & Housing
Do you know if the caretaker knew your step grandpa before she started coming to 'take care' of your grandma? Is the caretaker a certified nurses aide or trained, experienced in care taking? Could it be that they knew each other, and bringing in this caretaker is just a 'cover' for the couple to have their time together under one roof? Is the caretaker properly and adequately caring for grandma? The weight loss is concerning.....because it makes me wonder if step g-pa or caregiver are concerned enough about it to have taken her to the doctor? There are meds that can be ordered to improve appetite. I agree with others that I would be trying to get info from the doctor who cares for her, and I would be making regular visits to see her, and take pictures of family with her, and expecting to be allowed to visit, but if refused to enter the house to visit....to put that in a log. I would call APS and an elder care attorney and any state agency like the local senior agency, for advice and help.
