We moved Mom to a senior residential, her funds will not last. He wants her house for himself and after mom signed it over, he made it joint with his wife. They hope someone else will pay...i.e government.........That is not the case at this time.

Mom was competent at the time, but he convinced her having too much money would go against her should she sell the house. Now she is in a res and the monthly payment is more than her monthly income. He has the monthly debits coming out of her funeral account, vs giving her funds from the sale of the house. He did not pay for the house in anyway. We guess he has already put a lien on the house to finance their new cars and vacations.

madmad, sorry, but Medicaid will not pick up the tab if she gave the house away. So tell him (brother) to figure out what he is going to do with her.

Was mom competent to enter into this transaction at the time it took place? How long ago did this occur?
