We have a time release machine for my Dad's medicine. My brother is very much in control of our Fathers med. I have had no concerns till now. He is leaving for 10 days and has taken Dad's medicines to his home where I can not get to them. My mother is very upset and no amount of talking is working. He said all Dad's medicines is set up and their should be know worries... should I been concerned?

My brother does not want to talk with the Dr about keeping Dad's medicine at his home while he is gone. The dispenser will hold enough pills for the time they will be gone.I take my Dad for blood work every week for his blood thinner to check the levels...I will not be able to add or reduce as needed. My Sister from Kc said she will be down to take care of the medicines while our brother is gone. I just feel hurt that I see to my parents needs every day and I"m glad can. I can say that I have never done any thing to cause harm to my Dad. The only thing I know is that our Dad suffers from RA and there have been times I have called the DR to ask if Dad can have other pain pill to help easy the pain...My brother is very much against this...that's where we disagree. Thanks for being here it helps.

I'd call the doctor and ask for a four way conversation about this.

Mom can not see well enough to help...I live 5 mins away...Dad takes med's 3x a day. It's the pain medicine that is the problem..My brother is not a big believer in them.He worries that we will give Dad more than he needs. Our Dad suffers from RA and can no longer take anything for the RA because of the cancer. He has some pretty bad days but for the most part does well.

How does the automatic dispenser work?? The one I used was good for 28 doses. So if someone took meds two times a day, that would work for two full weeks. Is your Mom able to handle Dad's meds? There must be a reason that your brother is involved. I would urge you to try to get all of the facts before you get upset.
