What brand of adult diapers will Medicaid cover for Dad?

My dad will be coming home from nursing home rehab in a week. He has Medicaid. Do you know what brand of adult diapers this will cover? Will it be tabs or pullups? I am just worried about how many he might go thru and how much they will cost. Also, does anyone know about any home healthcare he might be eligible for thru Medicaid?

Erin, it would be best to contact your Dad's State Medicaid office to find out what products he can get through Medicaid and what healthcare he might be eligible. The reason being that each State has their own rules, regulations, and programs. And those programs are constantly changing depending on State budgets.

erinisme, Before he is discharged, you need to talk to the Discharge Coordinator AND Social Worker the and get a complete list of what you need at home and know who the Medicaid supplier will be. Find out who his caseworker is at the county, too.

Thank you. I guess Im anxious. We do have a care conference on Wednesday & I'm sure this will calm my fears. I do have an appointment on the day he comes home with our county ADRC. I'm just kind of freaking out about the uncertain. It may not be as bad as I think it might be.
