Take it from someone who had to deal with this when my BIL took his Mom's oxy when she was dying from cancer!! The son is an addict and you need to take the pills out of the house and distribute them to your boyfriend as needed!!! Get the son in rehab or get him out of the house! Call the cops and get a restraining order...

PS My BIL is now dead from a heroin overdose!!!

The son needs to be out of the house. If he is stealing pills, he will eventually steal money and jewelry.

If you won't call police, then lock the pills away where only you or dad have access-- and not a little lock box that can just be hauled away or dropped. Consider that maybe you can just put out a daily dose and that's it. If boyfriend is over using or son is stealing...you'll have to decide who needs help/rehab.

This is serious either way. Confront the son and tell him this must stop. Keep the pills under your possession if necessary, divvying out dosage to boyfriend as needed.

SA, it's the boyfriend's son stealing his own father's pain meds, on the flimsiest and most dubious of pretexts.

I am struggling to imagine any reason why the little sod should not be carted off to jail today.

Are you absolutely sure? Did you witness this yourself? After you knock him senseless with a ten inch cast iron frying pan, call the police and tell them he has passed out from taking all those pills and have him hauled away.

Ok, I got this ass backward. I thought it was the boyfriend taking the pills from the son.

Your son is the one dead in the wrong then. He needs to find his own place very, very soon. I'd let that be known if I was dealing with this and stand firm on it. If this behavior continues, he's got to go.

Can anyone explain to me why this lady should not just ring the police? These are narcotics we're talking about, after all, being stolen. Why isn't it obvious?

Lolabob, I hope you're ok. Please feed back x

Okay, got clarification from your post on another question.
1. Call you boyfriend's doctor and report that pills are being stolen and sold by boyfriend's son.
2. Call 911 and report theft. explain circumstances when the cops get there.
3. How old is your boyfriend? If elderly, call adult protective services. If not, see if boyfriend's doctor or clinic can set you up with a social worker, ombudsman or someone who can help you sort this out.
