The NH asked us to bring mil underwear. She only has the one pair she came there in and I have no idea what they look like. I have searched high and low and can not find my mil panties in her hoarders nest house. I'm planning on going to Walmart tomorrow before our visit Friday. What should I look for. She does not have accidents, but does get UTIs. She has dementia so I can't ask her.

As an elderly granny I agree with all the above are cotton with plenty of room. Measure if you can but make your best guess then go up one size. You can't exchange undewear so just get a couple of pairs and see what fits. Go with cheap and cheerful like Hianes or F of the L as they wear out fast and get lost.I know she is not incontinent but pick up a packet of Depends to get her through the experimental stage. They can be light weight, very stretchy and easy on easy off.

Jesse- just curious, do you have any problem with the tops rolling down without a specific waistband?

I don't know which is more annoying- tops rolling down or legs hiking up!

I also like Vanity Fair (at J.C. Penney's). The briefs come up really high and are 100% cotton. The elastic trim on them isn't tight but they stay up. I like the other three brands mentioned too, but I have a paunch and the Vanity Fair encompasses it;)

I vote for fruit of the loom as well, but any granny pantie that is on sale will probably do. If you don't know her size then picking a little too big is better than a little too small, I've noticed that manufactures seem to be cutting costs by reducing the sizes.

Fruit of the Loom is more comfortable than Hanes to me. I bought some new Fruit of the Loom panties of the cotton breathing type than has no real waist band. They are so comfortable and come in colors, so they're pretty, too.

I wear Jocky underwear and they are very comfortable. I haven't found a pair that wasn't a 100 percent cotton. Other pairs don't feel as comfortable as these. I haven't seen anything past the size off 11 though.

I just took a look at Walmarts web site. 1000 years ago I once managed a lingerie department so I wanted to see what wally carried.

Of brand names I saw mainly Hanes and Fruit of the Loom. They did have Vasserette which was a good brand - can't say I'm current on them but they mainly were foundation garments which wouldn't be what you'd want. I did see the Lollipop that MsMadge mentioned. They are made by Vanity Fair - good brand but they were mail order only.

So - of what I saw - Hanes Women's Cotton Brief Panties, 10-Pack look like the best choice both product and price.

You're gonna want a cotton brief. Stay away from synthetic fibers as most don't breath or wick moisture which can lead to infections. Usually I like a touch of spandex or Lycra as it helps keep the shape but no more than 10% and really 100% cotton is best. Stick to a brief - they call them "Grannie panties" for a reason.

Mom wore all cotton lollipop briefs with comfort leg bands which come in very large sizes up to 12
I got them at Macy's but you probably can find them on Amazon

She can put a poise liner in them for accidents

Stay clear of tight bands and polyester
