Hello everyone,

The caregiver role is new to me so I really appreciate this site. I am looking for the best caregiver pager system... two different types actually. I would like one my parents could use to alert each other (dad needs help so he buzzes mom who is on the other side of the house) AND also a system that would ring straight into 911, if necessary. ADT came out and gave us a sales pitch on that one, but was looking for other recommendations along those lines. Thanks!

room to room get a baby monitor. Calling 911, a landline from the phone company and NOT via cable TV service or via cell phone. NOT a cordless phone that dies when the power goes out. That old 20th century stuff was reliable.

Get a wireless 2 button doorbell system. You can mount the button on cane or walker or probably can figure a way to hook them on a lanyard. Put the ringer in a central location. Or get two systems give each one the button that rings the other. Inexpensive but effective

You're welcome. Something else occurred to me that you might want to investigate. ` Electronics buffs know a lot more about survillance and monitoring than I ever could. You might google electronics forums and pager systems, or some variation of those topics.

Police and/or fire departments also might be another source to offer some guidelines.

With the advent of in-home smart technology, there might be something close to what you're looking for. You might eventually cobble together something with a SmartPhone that you carry with an alert app in some device more simple for your parents. I'm really not very familiar with these smart home applications but perhaps the companies that manufacture and/or sell them could help. This would probably require some research on your part first though.

Good luck.

I'm not familiar with anything like this, other than pagers used by hospital personnel. Perhaps something like that might work.

I'm also not familiar with any systems that directly call 911.

Alternately, perhaps medic alert buttons could serve your needs.
