My husband did extremely well on aricept. My mother couldn't tolerate it because of nausea.

I am not aware of it helping with anxiety. In fact, my husband took a separate drug for that.

My Papa was put on Aricept for hallucinations from Parkinson’s. The medicine worked wonders, they then tapered it down, and took him off of it altogether. The hallucinations will be back, however, because this is a part of Parkinson’s. So he will then be put on it again. He experienced zero side effects. I don’t know if it is prescribed for anxiety though.

My mom never took Aricept, but I've heard others on this board talk about it helping with the hallucinations that are common with Lewy Body Dementia. I have not heard of it helping with memory or confusion.

Aricept had the completely opposite effect than intended on my mom. It often takes some trial and error to find a med that will work.
