Even if your mom would qualify for VA assistance as a veteran or the spouse of a veteran, you might get faster assistance from the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which helps a lot of people in need of wheelchair services.

I did a quick google search as to whether Medicare pays for wheelchair ramps and it looks like the answer is no....but to be sure call 1-800- Medicare. I do know that if the patient is a disabled veteran the VA pays for ramps and wheelchair lifts,depending on the degree of disability.
