So no, I'm not going to drive them 3-5x a week to the YMCA. They won't take the Ride sevice or a taxi either. I wish they would!
I don't mean to discourage you. Sometimes it works out fine. One of the caregivers in my support group came by senior transportation -- she often had to leave early to be ready to get the van, but at least she got to and from the meetings. Check out what is available in your area. It is definitely worth a try!
My husband could take his mobility scooter to the nearby exercise classes, while he was still competent to drive that.
