My brother is a veteran of the US Naval Air. He is 68 years old and has limited mobility. He needs assistance with home maintenance and repair, as well as, home health medical care. What agencies can we contact that may be able to offer assistance? He lives in Kansas City, Kansas, and his sole source of income is social security benefits of less than $800/mo. We appreciate any info you may have.

Find Care & Housing
Contact your County VA office. They can explain what he is entitled to as a Vet. Make sure you take all his Military info. He may qualify for Aide and Attendance if he served during a war or conflict. Your County Office of Aging may have some services. Medicaid may be able to help but start with the VA.

The VA may be able to help. Check with them about Aide and Attendance and free or reduced healthcare. Because of his limited mobility he may qualify for home health care.

Yes there is aid and attendance, there is also a VA pension. Also you might check if he can get services connection for any service related issues especially Vietnam. Check with the DAV, VFW, etc.
