Are home visits available to provide assistance with hygiene for elderly woman in Chaparral, NM?

87 year old woman has multiple health problems, limited mobility and is in a wheelchair. She lives with her daughter who also has many health problems.

Contact Council on Aging in your area. Also ask her doctor about speaking to a social worker.

If both are low income with no assets, they maybe able to get "in home" Medicaid. They can apply at your county Social Service Office. Office of aging can come in and evaluate the situation. Help with an aide and transportation. There are resources out there, just have to know where to find them.

You can apply for Medicaid at your local New Mexico Human Services office.
