My mother told me on the phone today that she has a bed sore. Is this due to neglect on the part of the caregivers? She did tell me that the nurse is taking care of the sore. But I wonder if neglect caused it?
Yes, she should have been rolled every two hours. They should have notice early sign of pre-sore when bathing, changing or toileting her. They can be very painful
Yes, its serious. My daughter had to prove in a hearing that a sore was present when a person was transferred from the hospital. She was the nurse who examines new residents coming into rehab, top to bottom. She records everything. A presore, a sore. The family was blaming the Rehab. My daughter proved it was the Hospital.
