Can I apply for respite care for my father at a local nursing home or the VA?

Sisterlocks, if your dad is on Aid and Attendance through the VA, then a certain number of respite hrs is included. It's not a lot but it can help.
Otherwise, when we called around it was out-of-pocket only.

Provided you or your father is paying for it...then go apply at any care facility that will take memory care patient.
But, there isn't any free respite care.

Only on Hospice. If not on Hospice, not covered by anyone.
