I am now the full time caregiver for my mother with moderate dementia. I think Medicare pays to the caregiver but how do we apply?

elcantrell, the vast majority of grown children do not get paid for caring for their elderly parents.... unless the parent can pay from their own retirement fund.

Medicare has no program where they pay for caregivers.

Medicaid [which is different from Medicare] might pay you depending on your State. First check to see if your mother can qualify for Medicaid. If yes, and if your State has this program, note the pay will be minimal. Call your State Medicaid office.
