My mother is 83 years old and has moved in with me. I have given up my time to taking care of her and doing things with and for her such as driving her to her doctor appointments, cooking for her, and daily excerise/activities.

Can you clarify just a bit? Do you want to hire a caregiver? Or to you want to get paid for being Mom's caregiver?

Does Mom have assets? Does she have an income, such as SS or a pension?

The conversation begins with her MD. If he recommends assisted living, start looking at facilities. If she needs a visiting nurse, he will order one.
