My mom has just been approved for 24/7 care by Medicaid starting May 1. We submitted the application on Feb 1. My lawyer gave me a phone number to call to ask if they will reimburse us for some of the homecare expenses we've paid out of pocket. She says she has no idea if they will, of course, but it's worth asking. I will call, but I was just wondering if anyone has tried and succeeded at getting reimbursed for pre-approval expenses.

Find Care & Housing
Oh, boy, I do not want to risk losing Medicaid!! Funds for homecare have come out of her checking account since September, but she has not reimbursed me and there is no loan agreement. I better ask my lawyer. Thanks for the heads-up, Guestshopadmin (love the name!)

Xina, the answer is sometimes within a certain time frame. You have to be careful that it doesn't bust eligibility for Medicaid if they reimburse. If you paid expenses for mother and she is paying you back without prior repayment loan agreement? Medicaid will probably treat as gift unless you drew up loan docs, etc. but you can ask.
