How do you cope with constant stress. Then something else happens or your afraid will happen. And waiting around for seven or eight hours to find out. When I'm already so stressed each day. I am going recovered every Thursday during tax season. But I just wanted to go with husband just this first time at least. But I might have to stay home. I just don't know how much worry and stress I can take. My meds work good. But they don't take all worry away. And dont do anything for stress. Probably he will turn his lights off. Or someone will still be there and give him a jump. Or cellphone will not have gotten turned on accidentally in his pocket and it will have enough power left for a few calls. And I saw him when he left so I could remind him to take the cell phone in the first place. The library is faraway from home. And it's night time when he leaves the library. I can't drive at night. He is so focused and intense when it is volunteer income tax day. And so many people are waiting at the library to get their taxes done. Even before the site openes. So he would not be willing To go outside to see if he turned off his car lights.

Stressed out big time over the past 7 years.... and now with my Mom passing and Dad safety tucked away in Independent Living, the stress level is coming down but very very slowly. The damage to my health has already been done :(

Just as we try to redirect the dementia patient when they are upset, we must also redirect ourselves, send our train of thought to a different track. I imagine myself at the Outer Banks on a warm sunny day.
