i woke up this morning and out of my left eye i saw nothing but pure white light along with a black circle a size of a dime. right eye ok. so I close my right eye but out of my left eye I could not see anything but pure whiteness with this black circle. it last for a few second. it scared me because I never had this happen to me before. have anyone had this happen to them before.

I once had an ocular migraine but it was in both eyes at once. I was reading the paper at the time and my field of vision narrowed to a pinpoint with everything surrounding the pinpoint becoming a grayish white with what I can only describe as sparkles. It lasted several minutes and then went away. It has only happened that once and that was years ago.

May be a detached retina. See an eye surgeon asap.

Time to make an appointment with an eye doctor.

I didn't have what you had, but one time I got what looked like small bubbles in the design of a backward letter C which happened in both eyes in the same location of both eyes.... that really scared me.   I get them every now and then and it last 20 minutes.   It still freaks me out.   Eye doctor said nothing to worry about.
