My elderly parent who lives with me refuses to wash hands properly, spray down or wash masks between uses, or cover her coughs and sneezes. Anyone have tips on changing old habits? I have kleenex everywhere, I have spray bottles of alcohol everywhere, and keep soap readily available.
Plus she visits my brother and family for visits to restaurants.

I work with the public and spend 40 hours in mask and gloves against same people and work to keep the virus at bay for both our sake. It's maddening and it makes me feel like no one respects my health at all. Any tips on gaining compliance?

I don't constantly wash my hands in my own house. Nor do I wipe things down on a constant basis. My mask, I wear for a few minutes in a store. I just hang it up to air out and wash when I wash. Now if I wore it all day long, I would wash it out every night. But then its just me and hubby. We limit where we go.

I find that the local restaurants are pretty good about keeping things sanitized. I would expect parent to wash up when they returned home though. What I see as the threat is you. Do you strip down and shower as soon as you get home? Putting those clothes in the wash?

I really have no ideas how you can get ur parent to comply. You don't seem to be the only one on the forum with this problem. Some people are not taking this seriously. Me, better on the safe side. Numbers are rising all over. Where we had a few a day for the whole County we now are averaging 20 a day and its not children. (Schools running half days) Its been middle aged people.
