I'm no help, sorry! I've purchased two different pair for my dad, of good quality hearing aids from specialists - no cheap ones either! He just won't wear them. I gave up! I truly hope you have better luck.

Debby12, welcome to the forum. One way to get someone to wear hearing aids is to speak in a normal voice or even more of a whisper, no more shouting. If the person cannot hear you, eventually they may (or may not) get the idea. Or get a "white board" and write down so your Mom can read it, if her eye sight is good.

First, has your Mom seen an Ear, Nose & Throat doctor? If not, set up an appointment so the doctor can check to be sure if there is a hearing loss or if the ear canal is blocked by wax that was turned into cement. If the latter, there are ways to break up that harden wax.

My hubby thought he had lost hearing in one ear, sure enough the ENT found harden wax which was eventually removed. At least we knew for sure what was the problem.
