Offered by United Health care. Services seem very good to have, home visits, sounds like urgent care at home type of thing.

I just get skeptical of anything offered by the insurance companies, another way for them to deny something down the road 🤔

Advantage plans are only an advantage if you are never sick or in need of anything medical. They are great if you need free bandaids, free vitamins, discounted gym access or free acetominephin, but these plans can supercede your original Medicare and act like an HMO: a financial gatekeeper that can become restrictive. Your co-pays are less money but then less is covered after that and they dictate where you go and who you see. I personally have a BCBS supplement. The plan costs more and the co-pays are higher but then again since I turned 65 (one year since February) I've had a kidney stone removal, a TKR (total knee replacement), an elbow tendon repair surgery, the attendant PT and meds, among other things. Haven't seen a bill yet. I got to choose every doc and every clinic with no pre-authorization. BCBS also actually crosses some state lines, unlike most other insurers, and they have global travel coverage. Landmark is probably only in your home state. When looking for a plan, I wanted one that would allow me to go to the Mayo Clinic because I'm still young enough that if I got cancer or some other awful illness I'd head right over there. My Mom is 95 and she has the same gap plan. You can join Nextdoor.com and ask local neighbors and your community what they think about Landmark health? But only consider input from people who were sick and needed to navigate getting care, not people who never needed any medical care. The way I look at it is that my gap plan is more expensive upfront but then when I actually need care I pay very little, if anything for it. There are no surprises. But with Advantage plans, you pay very little up front but you can and will have some very ugly surprises both in choice and costs when it comes time to get the care you need. I like control, I don't like surprises.

Do you have traditional Medicare with UH as the supplimental? Is Landmark United Healths Advantage plan?

Me personally would not have an Advantage plan. From what I hear they really are not good as you age and need more and more care. I also don't like UH. I think they took my nephew from his prescription plan to an MA without his permission. It screwed up his Medicaid. Medicare removed the MA, took him back to reg Medicare and to the prescription plan. With in a year, UH dropped the medicaid perscription plan and my nephew went with another plan.

You may want to call your County Office of Aging. They should have someone who can explain the plan to you. Good and bad.

I just looked it up, seems to be additional care. They say they work with your doctor. Is this part of a Medicare Advantage plan or a supplimental to Medicare? Is there a charge? Is it a service you think you can use? For me, its not something I would use. Our supplimental has a similar option. Since my DH is computer illiterate and almost deaf the online thing would not work for him. We both like in person.

It's Medicare advantage and no charge. Seems good on face but again I'm suspicious bc these companies never actually have your best interest in mind. Just the bottom dollar.
