I am the current POA. It was decided in a family meeting with my mom that I was the best choice for financial and medical POA. My mom made this suggestion and all my siblings agreed. Now my mom is in the hospital after a bad fall. She is on pain medication. Two of my sisters have convinced her to change POA to them. I am most concerned with the financial aspect. The general feeling is that my sisters would take all the assets if there was an opportunity.
I only found out when I was doing a follow up with her primary physician.

They may have provided a copy to the hospital staff. I'm not sure though whether the staff could provide a copy to you, but it's worth a try.

Do you have any access to your mother's checking account? If so, you could check to determine if any payments have been made recently to attorneys.

I am trying to ascertain how they crafted the change. I do not believe an attorney came to the hospital. Thank you for your response. I will attempt to obtain a copy of the document to determine if it is actually a legal document.

If your mother's cognitive functions are impacted by the pain medication, then the sisters might be considered to have displayed undue influence.

How were the changes made? Did an attorney come to the hospital to have your mother execute new POAs?
