Hello. This morning I had it out with what I can say without doubt is the worst nurse I ever met. She refused to give me my medication, so I called 911. They talked to her and low and behold she showed up with my meds, calling me everything in the book, and asking, but did you die!! And other horrible things. She didn't touch me but she really slammed my insulin needle hard into my arm. I'm in a nursing home. Anything I can do, because a cna was in there too feeding my roommate. I don't want to live like this anymore. Thank you for any input!

You can often catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Have you tried being friendly and respectful towards these aggressive people you live with?

Yes. Im very kind, but if someone stabs me with an insulin needle and makes me wait for hours for pain medication I loose a little kindness and ask questions. The amount of people saying this is my fault is ridiculous

I know from what you've posted in the past Brandon, that you've had ongoing issues with the nursing facility that you're in.
Is it at all possible that you can see if you can be transferred to another facility, or ask a family member to help you be transferred?
I'm sorry that you've been treated so poorly and hope you'll find a resolution soon.

Would talk to the DON and ask that this nurse not care for you and why. You have the right to call an Ombudsman with your complaints. There is also a doctor associated with the facility, talk to them about how you are treated. You also have the option of finding another facility.

Really a forum of remote strangers from around the country and even outside this country can't help with your ongoing problems in your facility, Brandon. You are smart and well spoken, but you are (and rightly) frustrated and unhappy with your disability and your need to reside in care. You have access to the administration where you are and should make use of that, but an adversarial relationship with all who work there will make you the "patients who gets passed around". As an RN all my career I am aware of the times we had people who no one on the staff could make happy or even content in any way. It was frustrating for the patient and for us; so we "took turns" and we dreaded when it was our turn.

Is it possible for you to request and seek counseling help of some kind with a good cognitive therapist. I think you don't need someone who is a "talk" therapist as they simply listen and collect money. Cognitive therapists more help you explore how you handle situations, and what will work to make them better for you. Help in breaking habits of behavior that don't work and are self-harming, and to change attitude to change your life.

I know in the past we already suggested an ombudsman. Have you "been there and done that?"

I honestly am so sorry for all you are going through. I just gave you the only advice I know to help you. Which is once again:
1. Speak with administration
2. Contact an ombudsman
3. Consider an few sessions of therapy to explore different avenues of approach.

I wish you the very best, and again am so sorry for you frustration.
