It would be best if your spoke with Medicare to see if your TB test and MMR test would be covered.

This is what I found regarding tests: https://www.medicare.gov/coverage/diagnostic-tests.html

Your agency? Are you a caregiver? If required for employment it seems agency should pay for it. Medicare would only pay if prescribed by your doctor. Just like places that require drug tests the employer always pays.

Thank you both for your reply(s). I did read that section in the Medicare booklet, but did not know if these tests were classified as "preventive" or "diagnostic lab tests", ordered by my doc or another practitioner. I assumed the Home Care Agency is "another practitioner" because they are state licensed and are ordering the tests, which my doc is performing to determine if I have the condition or have been deemed immune to the condition. I think I had these tests done 8 yrs ago and I never received a bill, although they were done by my doc and not the agency, but not sure. I tried to call medicare but did not get through (what's new?). Just thought some of you would be able to answer. Thanks.

Do you mean the MMR vaccination and a PPD test for tuberculosis? Medicare covers many vaccinations if prescribed by the doctor. TB tests are common, too, so I imagine that Medicare would cover it. You can always check with Medicare to see if they will cover it, given the coverage that you have. These would most likely be covered under Part B -- not sure about that.

Thanks for your replies. As I have said, I have tried to get through to medicare to ask, but no luck in connecting. If I connect I will post an update.
