I am an OT who works in home health. This would be something an OT would do for you. I would ask your family Dr. to make a referral to your local home health agency for an OT assessment.

My husband's doctor ordered a therapist visit to the home for this purpose. (Can't remember whether it was PT or OT.) When my son was in rehab after an accident they sent a therapist to his home to see how he could function in that environment before they released him. They made a few suggestions for improvement.

I would start by calling or emailing the clinic where the dementia is being treated and asking for an order for such an evaluation. It is very worthwhile!

One suggestion is to contact your county agency on aging to see if your area offers such inspections... go to the website link below.... click on your State.... now click on the city/county. https://www.agingcare.com/local/Area-Agency-on-Aging
