My mom has Alzheimer's disease 8 years ago, she has Medicare and Medicaid recently brought her to live with me from California to Florida to care for her. I've heard that there are agencies that if I need to take care of me my mom one day I call and send me a person and that Medicaid covers. Anyone know about this? What should I do to apply for this service if I have a doctor turn to me and I have no one to leave my mom? This is all new to me. Thank you. Requesting information about agencies for people with Alzheimer's care.

Medicaid is a federal program run by the states. It is very important to renew the Medicaid connection when changing states. Get in touch with your local Medicaid office and start the ball rolling. Then you can also see what services will be available to your mother in Florida.

Good luck!
