Find Care & Housing
Make sure you pop in unannounced from time to time. Nothing is perfect. My friend's mom lived in her own home. Who did she and the caretaker call when mom fell, over and over, and over? The poor neighbor... my friend finally told them to start calling 911. Neighbor can't pick up 180 pounds of limp weight. and neither could the caretaker who was supposedly taking care of this woman...of course the caretaker didn't want to call 911, mom fell on caretaker's watch, which was basically 24/7... sad, plus when it came down to it, she was only capable in staying and living on the main floor... really... even with the Acorn lift, they put a medical bed on main floor . couldn't go upstairs.. downstairs was hard. she was basically in wheel chair, BUT YES, You are correct.. like all of us, and she was able to do this, she wanted to be home, and she stayed home. Bottom line, she was happy.. I honestly tried to keep my mom home.. she would have been happy too.. Please forgive me mom. I love you. I did try.
