Put you complaint in writing or by e-mail. Save a copy and have proof that it is sent. Show your copy of the letter sent to the Director or other person of authority in the facility to whoever you call upon for help, i.e., an attorney, an ombudsman, an Inspector of Senior Facilities. Keep a log whenever you Notice this is happening with times and room number. When Mother was in a rogue Personal Care Facility, residents were waiting forever. The Nurses Aid's would be in the Nurses Office socializing and would ignore the residents calling for help, not attending to residents was one of many injuries to Mother and myself. We moved Mother to a better Facility in Assisted Living. Here when the resident pushes the button for help, a light starts flashing above the residents door and the room number is heard all over the building to the NA's (outside of the apartments) and after the NA arrives, it is announced "room _____ is cleared" that signifies that someone is with the resident who rang for assistance. Listen to what other residents and their families have to say about your Mother's facility. Try Caregiver support groups in the area and bring up that topic. Also. the best advice and support I got was from my Bible Study Group near the Senior Facility where we moved Mom to. They prayed with me as I asked for protection for Mother and myself from the rogue facility. The rogue facility had their hooks into the family. My son helped me remove mother from the rogue facility and he interviewed with us at the new facility near our home. He knows some of the staff here. It is a heavenly place. Everyone is caring and loving. Don't let anyone make you feel that you are too particular. Not all facilities are as bad as what you are witnessing.

Start by expressing your concerns to the director where she is. Give them an opportunity to correct it. The facility is licensed by the state. Call your local area agency on Aging. They have an ombudsmen that is assigned to her facility. They are assigned to many facilities but will check in on mom.
