Education school as a braille teacher. ( worked for 23 yrs in the Canadian Embassy and retired in1992. What money I got from there I built me a house , a shelter for us two.in our old age. Dear Jacoba, I am glad that you have the internet available to you. When I was cleaning out my Mother's apartment after she went into a nursing hime, I found a wonderful prayer book with daily prayers devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, published by the order of Priests of the Sacred Heart. I find that if I read it every day (certain prayers are my favorites), my day usually goes well. However, not being as devout a Catholic as I ought to be, I often skip a day, or sometimes a week, but then I get back into it again. I believe that prayer and Jesus are the best counseling we can get, because what does a psychiatrist or psychologist do but counsel us to look inside ourselves for answers? Jesus does the same thing for free. Please go to: Poshusa.org and see what that website offers. Among other things, there is a daily calendar prayer and spiritual mail via post or email that you can sign up for. The prayerbook I mentioned is called Daily Prayers and they sell if for $5.00 USD. Please, if you want it but cannot afford it, let me know, and I will send it to you. Blessings and best wishes!

Jacoba - I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. Sometimes it seems like the world just wants to throw away old people.

I have a question about Pakistan. I think I have heard that it against the law to try to convert people. Is that true? I hope it is not true. Or are you already a Christian?

I don't know what Christian missions there may be in Rawalpindi, but if anyone has missionaries, the Mormons will. Google Latter Day Saints and Rawalpindi. Mormons are very good about reaching out to help others.

If you want to know Jesus, there is a children's song that always touches my heart. It's called "Jesus Loves me." Look for it on Youtube.

Please tell us more about your life, and we will be your distant friends.

(((((Jacoba))))) There are a number of Christian churches in Rawalpindi. Here is a list I got from the internet. You should be able to find at least some of them on the internet, or find the phone numbers in a phone book. If you need help with an internet search for information about them I will be happy to do that. Do you have a bible to read?

Here is the list:
Universal Gospel Assembly International (UGA)
Christ Church Rawalpindi
Nicoll Memorial Church
Sacred Heart Church
St. Andrew's Church
St. Joseph's Cathedral
St. Mary's Church
St. Paul's Church
Holy Family Catholic Church
St. John's Church
Philadelphia Pentecostal Church
United Protestant Church of Pakistan (PEC)

I find it interesting that you worked in the Canadian embassy as I am Canadian.
To invite Jesus into your heart you only have have to believe that He is the son of God, died on the cross carrying our sins, was raised from the dead, and that you are a sinner (imperfect person), you need His help, and ask him to be your Lord and Saviour. There are forms of the "sinners prayer" on the internet, but the exact words are not important - it is what is in your heart that is.
I will pray for your needs to be filled. Joan

My brother Jacoba, it appears that no one has adequately answered your question on how to invite Jesus into your heart and be saved. You may already have your answer by now since it's been such a long time, but if you still need to know please pray the following prayer. You can use your own words. God loves a genuine heart. It doesn't have to be perfect. This is only a guideline and not a prescribed formula:

Dear Jesus,

Please come into my heart right now. Be my Lord and my Savior. I believe that you died on the cross for the remission of my sins. I believe that you rose from the dead to give me new life. Please Lord forgive me of all my sins. Wash me clean Lord. Please make your home in me with the Father and with His Holy Spirit. Baptize me in the Holy Spirit too Lord and empower me to live for you. Teach me to live for you all the days of my life. I love you Jesus. Thank you! Amen

Brother if you prayed this prayer and genuinely meant it then you are now born-again of the Spirt and you belong to Jesus. You are a child of the living God YHWH. Please get your hands on a Bible (or find one online) and allow God's Word to renew you and transform your mind daily into the Image of Jesus, God's Son. He will fill you with joy, peace, and hope like you have never before experienced. God will comfort you and teach you all that you need to know through His Word and through the fellowship of His Holy Spirit. The NIV version would be easiest for you to understand. Start reading in the New Testament Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). I suggest reading Mark and John first.

Find a church you can attend regularly. A Pentecostal or non-denominational church would be best my brother!

Dear friend, if you need anything else or have questions please email me at rodna.epley@swcu.edu or send me a Facebook message. Search for me, my name is Rodna Epley. I am your sister in Christ.

God bless you brother!
