I called Adult Protective Service on my bf cause he is a handful to deal with. Me and my kids cannot handle him anymore. The case worker came over and spoke to him and she sees the stubborn in him and scared. The reason i call is because he refuse to take his meds that is prescribe to him by his Psychologist refuses to go to his doctors appointments and has not seen his doctors in 5 months. I know that they will be getting us a social worker to do follow up on him and so on. I want him in a facility will that ever happen if he does not follow the rules in house hold and go to his doctors appointments at all. Any answers will help me out on this.

I don't think that APS can do anything to make your boyfriend take his meds if he doesn't want to. Your boyfriend is an adult and, unless he presents a danger to himself or others, you are pretty much stuck with his wishes if you choose to stay. First of all, you aren't married, so that gives you no standing in any court of law, should you try to have the courts force him to take meds. If he becomes a danger to himself, threatens you, your children, or others, then you need to call 9-1-1 immediately.

You might want to visit the National Alliance on Mental Illness. They have a couple of wonderful, helpful online support groups. The two most active ones are bipolar and major depression but I don't know if either of those applies to your situation. NAMI also has a ton of information and resources on mental illness. Good luck to you.

adult protective services please be protective of those close to you since they can fabricate lies take control and break apart loving families and take loved ones ..my mom when I called they lied took her away and assigned a guardian who was then in control of my mothers life money and medical decissions my husband an attorney 30 years never dreamed the corruption was going on and could even occur..but it did and my mom was elder abuse, exploitation and guardianship abuse by a team that destroyed so many responsible professional loving families
take care and be careful as to who you contact by making very careful decisions and more
