She can try the TENA Stretch Briefs. They're breathable so your mom's skin will feel cool and comfortable. They're also stretchy to allow for increased mobility without leakage. The Protection Plus Extended Underwear is also a good option. It also has a breathable outer layer and has anti-leak cuffs for maximum containment. Prevail Adult Briefs are good too.

I agree that TENA and Prevail are great brands! The website, The Quality of Life Store sells Prevail “per-fit” underwear or underwear that’s “adjustable and refasten able”. Both of those sounded like they might help with the comfort issue you mentioned! I hope that your mom finds a brand that works for her though.

Tena is a good product, but can be expensive. The question to ask is, if your mom could design the perfect bladder control pad, protective underwear or brief, what would she want it to do differently? Typically most end-users want a product that looks and feels like regular underwear. I would recommend Prevail. What's most important is that she finds the right product in the right size and is applying it correctly. End-users often do things that can defeat the best ideas. Products that are too large tend to leak. Doubling is something that I don't recommend, as it drives up costs and typically defeats the purpose of the brief or protective underwear. Another habit is using too much barrier ointment or cream, as people unintentionally end up water-proofing the very product that is designed to help keep their skin dry. Some manufacturers have clinicians available to talk to should you need to speak with an expert who will help you find the solution that you are looking for.
