My dad is in mid stage dementia and he has just started doing this. He says someone broke into the house at night and stole his coffee cup, food, ect. He doesn't get hostile but does get very agitated. His doctor increased the anxiety medication last week and we hope this helps. Have your dad checked for dementia/altzheimer and discuss his hostility with the doctor.
