My husband and I take care of his elderly mother. Recently she has become extremely physically and verbally abusive going as far as threatening us that she will report us for elderly abuse if we do not do her bidding. She is extemely OCD and refuses to get the mental help she most likely needs. We are unable to financially support her OCD demands (usually expensive home upgrades). We have our own financial issues to deal with plus a great deal is used to take care of her already. She cannot pay for these extra things either nor can she afford nursing care or any other outside care because she spends her monthly income on useless items. The threats and the constant yelling, and the hurtful lies she is spreading has caused severe depression in my husband. This is our home as well and we cannot leave her since she refuses to care for herself. We do not know what to do anymore!! Life has become unbearable around her.
