My Mother and her partner moved into an assisted living facility recently, and he seems to be declining rapidly. Mom has depression, and has voiced an inability to go on without him, which obviously has me very concerned.

Mom has lived with "chronic depression" for over 30 years, and has seen her psychiatrist recently. I plan to schedule another appointment for Mom with her right away, as her situation has changed, due to her partner's rapid decline. On advice of a counselor at our church, I learned about EMDR therapy for persons with chronic depression. EMDR therapy can help her to move through her grief, and her insurance covers it!

Can you get her to a doctor for her depression? And get someone out there to assess the overall situation.
