Mom normally sleeps from 9am to 7pm then has a little food and is restless all night. She is anemic and I give her liquid iron. This past week she basically stayed up for 3 days straight with an occasional 15 minute nap. Gave her a temazapam (15 mg at 12) to no avail. Then a .05 ativan at 7am. She crashed at noon and is now on a 21 hr deep sleep. I'm worried about dehydration. I hardly ever give her sleeping medications, her mind doesn't tolerate it well. Any advice? I figure I'll wake her at noon, change her and see what happens.

If mom sleeps from 9am to 7pm, her circadian rhythm is thrown off. You need to keep her UP during the day so she can sleep at night. Call her PCP for advice.
