Hello community I am wondering if 1. Anyone has experience working with Patient Advocate Foundation because I am having the hardest time to get those benefits in place and calling them is worse than calling social security or the IRS! and 2. DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY RESOURCES THAT HELP WITH GAS MONEY THAT WORK ASAP?? So I live in a very rural community and we have zero to negative zero resources that work with elderly or that does not take 2 months to qualify. My father has a neurologist appointment in Grand Junction which is a three hour drive and I had set aside 200.00 to get us there and while I was getting the tire fixed on our only vehicle my cousin took my dad to the bank at his request which I understand what I do not understand is how the teller at the bank "didn't see" that he is to have a 25.00 dollar limit a day and there is a POA filed in place with them. Nope my dad told them he wanted the cash in the account she gave it to him and now its MIA or dropped or who knows because my dad doesn't even remember going to the bank!!!! Now I have no gas money to get him to the neurologist and general surgeon today and we have to be on the road by 1130 this morning. Do any foundations or organizations work that quickly to offer help with transportation? Sorry for coming off so abruptly but I am a little mad and a whole lot of worry because we cannot miss this appointment Id appreciate any info thank you all!!!
You could try posting online, asking neighbors or friends for help, or call the number on his insurance card to ask if they provide a ride service to medical appointments.
I'm so sorry you are going through all this stress. I know, some days are just really bad, and there's not much you can do about it. Trying to scrape together $200 last minute is not going to be easy, and you may not be successful. Just remember to take a deep breath and remind yourself that you will get through this, and tomorrow's another day, and worst case scenario, you will have to re-schedule that appointment. And don't trust cousins or anyone else to take dad to the bank in the future. Try going through his pockets - see if he stashed money somewhere he doesn't remember.
By the time gas money comes around, a bunch of other things have.
Ask a church or synagogue for gas money loan since you need it right away.
