Legacy of Love - Touching Hearts at Home is a non-medical home care company that began in St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1996. We see the opportunity to provide caregiving services to seniors as a privilege that must be met with great integrity, always putting empathy and the belief in the dignity of all people at the forefront of our work.

This philosophy originated from the natural compassion of Touching Hearts' founder Renae Peterson, who received such a strong example of caring, kindness and concern from her mother, Melvina Peterson, that it continues to fuel her passion in our work to this day, and that we refer to as our legacy of love.

The need for care and companionship has grown dramatically in recent years as needs continue to rise, and Renae & her staff responded in 2007 by expanding through a network of franchised offices nationwide. Current family caregiver statistics show that more than 50 million people provide care for an ill, disabled or aging family member each year.

Our Founder - CEO & Founder Renae Peterson has owned, operated and been involved with in-home senior care businesses since 1996. Her business, management and interpersonal skills are as strong as her passion for helping the elderly and people with disabilities lead full and meaningful lives.

Ms. Peterson has innate business sense and savvy, having grown up in the family that founded Merry Maids and ServiceMaster Caring Companions. Prior to her work in elderly home care, she both owned and operated two Merry Maids franchises for nearly 10 years. She knows franchising, and dedicates herself to sharing her knowledge and experience with franchise owners through training and support, which they find key to their on-going success.

Renae is an entrepreneur who has successfully bought, operated and sold businesses. She is also a daughter who helped care for her mother and father prior to their passing with the same love and respect that she shows her clients. She believes that helping people is a privilege and she is grateful for the opportunity to serve.
