Brian has been serving the legal needs of elder New Yorkers for over 25 years. He’s proud of the praise the firm receives from existing clients.
He has extensive professional and personal experience with all Elder Care legal issues. For all matters, overall respect, compassion and positive results for elders is a priority. The law firm provides user-friendly clear explanations of legal matters. Many legal documents are drafted using effective, but simple "non-legalease" language, so that you can understand what you are signing.
The firm also has a large Article 81 Guardianship practice, and Brian A. Raphan has been appointed Court Examiner by the New York State Appellate Division since 1997. Also appointed Special Referee, Guardian ad Litem and Trustee by the New York State Supreme Court. We have attorneys who are fluent in Spanish, Italian, French and Dutch. AARP Member and Registered Attorneys.
This year the firm introduced Visiting Lawyer Services. VLS is now available to New Yorkers that are homebound or unable to travel to a lawyer. With VLS our lawyers come to you. There’s no longer a need to coordinate aides, transfers or transportation as you won’t need it. If witnesses are needed for signing documents we also arrange them to be with us. Other family members or loved ones may be present as well. This has been very helpful for elder couples–as is often the case with elders, one spouse may be healthy and agile yet the other quite limited.
