Every interaction with Senior Helpers has been positive and professional. We switched care for our mother to Senior Helpers from a large care provider that could not get people there consistently and when they did, could not meet our asks of conversing with Mom and going on walks outside with her as well as food and medication reminders. Senior Helpers caregivers accomplish all of those tasks and additionally will take Mom on small outings. Mom’s quality of life is greatly improved and she enjoys the company of the caregivers. On the rare occasions that the caregivers find anything they are concerned about, they immediately report to the main office and we are alerted asap. Senior helpers communication is significantly better than the previous company.

We had an emergency situation with our Mother and she had been sent home from the hospital not able to do anything for herself as she had broken her shoulder. The call I made to Senior Helpers was the best company we could have found. Grace was the one who answered and as soon I as told her what we needed she started to work on the schedule for me. By that evening she had 24 hour care set up for my Mom. I was so thankful for how hard she worked on this for us. Everyone of the caregivers that were with my mom did an amazing job and we were so grateful for them all. She has made the effort to learn my routines and how I want things done - towels folded, where the dishes go, etc. She often goes beyond what I would really do myself, if I could. She knows what needs to be done so will ask if she needs to vacuum today or dust or whatever, reminding me of chores. She is very flexible, when needs be, about which day she comes and what time. Although we both prefer a set schedule. She is always helpful when we run errands together. Sometimes getting my walker out so I can go in, at other times gong in by herself to get the one or 2 things I need.

We cannot be happier with the services we received from Senior Helpers for Dad. From start of service meeting with Steve, to every interaction with Janine and Steve, we have been very happy. Having dementia, Dad was very nervous with each new helper that came in. Sometimes it was not always a great match, and when we called Janine or Steve, they quickly resolved any concerns. Eventually we got Nikki and Sandy. Dad likes to rock out to Nikki's music in her car when they are traveling to and from errands and enjoys hearing about her home country and her children. I cannot say enough positive things about Sandy. She has been a bright and shining star to Dad and to our family. She steps in to help with cleaning without being asked, she brings a smile to our faces and lightens our load. And the most amazing thing is that she has brought Dad back from a dark place that Dementia had him in, She has engaged him in activities he enjoys and talks with him about all of his interests. He is more clear in his thinking, and he can't wait for her to come back each time. He is now moving into a home where he can be with his wife, since he has been on a waitlist, and although we are so happy to see him get to be with his love of 70 years, it is bittersweet because we will lose Sandy and Nikki. Thank you Senior Helpers for finding us the most wonderful and amazing helpers and being such a wonderful addition to our lives. If we could afford it, we would hire your helpers 24/7!

I don't think there's rhyme or reason to the way shifts and or clients are assigned to caregivers. I believe there needs to be a better system in place to ensure fairness to all employees. I also believe it's critical for employees working with the same client to communicate and document any unusual behaviors or anything that can be helpful to other caregivers. When shifts are filled in at the last minute, basic notes are not helpful for the personality of a client. There isn't real team effort that I've observed.
