In-Home Care Overview: Senior Helpers of Boston, MA

Who We Are 🧡

Senior Helpers is a premier in-home eldercare agency serving Metropolitan Boston and the South Shore. Our mission is to change the trajectory of aging for our community through purposeful education and exceptional hands-on care. We support older adults wherever they call home—private residences, assisted living, independent living, or memory care communities—whether the need is short-term or ongoing. Locally owned and deeply rooted in the communities we serve, our purpose is simple yet powerful: helping seniors age in place with dignity, independence, and—most importantly—joy.

We take the time to truly understand each client’s story, personality, routines, and preferences. This allows us to design care and activities that are meaningful, stimulating, and enjoyable. Our services are flexible, customizable, and built around a comprehensive care plan tailored to each individual’s needs.

In 2024, we became the first home care agency in New England to earn the CHAP Age-Friendly Care at Home certification—a national recognition aligned with the “4Ms” of care:

What Matters: Every care plan is centered around your loved one’s goals, values, and daily preferences.

Medication: We help ensure medications are managed safely and effectively, always supporting what matters most to the client.

Mentation: Our caregivers are trained to recognize and respond to changes in mood, cognition, or memory.

Mobility: We promote safe movement and routines that protect strength, confidence, and independence.

Guiding our work is Mark Friedman, whose personal experience caring for his own parents defines the standard we follow:
“If I wouldn’t do it for my parents, we won’t do it for anybody.”

Mark brings decades of global consulting experience helping organizations navigate change and elevate performance. Before leading Senior Helpers, he founded Real Time Strategy, advising major corporations and nonprofits on strategy, alignment, and operational excellence. He holds an MSIA (MBA) with High Distinction from Carnegie Mellon University and a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia. His background as a respected business leader and community builder—including serving as the founding president of Congregation Shirat Hayam of the North Shore—shapes our agency’s commitment to clarity, compassion, integrity, and purpose.
