Caregiver – Screening, Hiring, Training and Client Care Management
The decision to bring a caregiver into your home is a big step. Matching the right caregiver to the right client is one of the most important aspects of home care. Our caregivers are at the very core of our success. Great caregivers provide great care. Our thorough Select Home Care process not only focuses on the caregiver’s professional experience, but also whether or not they are a compatible match for the values and ethics we live by each day.

Our Caregivers go through a rigorous hiring, screening, and training process before they are assigned to a client. All caregivers are required to participate in continuing education each month. Caregivers are trained in identifying and reporting changes in service needs and health conditions. Many of our caregivers are CNA’s or HHA, and for those who are not, we require a minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience as a home care provider.

A Social Worker, Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), and Geriatric Care Manager oversee all our senior care plans. Every care plan can be expanded or scaled back based on the needs of the client and family. A Select Home Care social worker will make periodic visits to the home to seek input from the client and family members regarding the care plan.

Support services are provided through 24/7 phone line with a manager on duty at all times. With our acute care clients, an added level of monitoring is provided through Life Line at no additional cost for selected clients.
