William, I am a past client
The assigned RN, a male physically abused my 79 year old wife, then physically abuse me at Saint Francis Hospice. The rest of the staff often did not take proper care of my wife and often ignored her critical needs. The only doctor was not available often enough, and ignored our complaints. I suspect this organization and staff were defrauding Medicare. Each time they came, they insisted that I sign an electronic tablet, which did not state what they had done nor how long they had been with my wife. I asked for a hard copy of what I signed, but they refused. They did not ever offer to do any shopping, laundry, light housekeeping, etc. Their chaplain, a female, told me confidentially that this hospice was originally a part of the Catholic Church, and retained the Catholic name after becoming separate from the Catholic church. They told me I had to hire live-in caregivers to help with wife's care. I said I couldn't afford it, and that Medicare had promised to provide the needed care. This hospice is only interested in defrauding Medicare, and I believe they do a good job of that, because Medicare doesn't seem to care either. These people spend their time preaching to clients that they MUST hire in-home care.
