SAAD'S Healthcare's home care division has been doing physical therapy and speech therapy with my father-in-law for the past 5 months, who has Parkinson's and dementia. Many of their excellent therapists are trained in the LSVT Big & Loud physical and speech therapy specifically tailored for Parkinson's patients. They have a carefully integrated program than involves regular nurse visits and therapists, and occasionally social workers. They maintained very good communication with Dad's primary doctor, and also handle insurance issues. All the employees are very detailed with keeping up with medicine changes, and any health issues. Many hands really does make work light, and a lot of people looking at your situation is extremely helpful. A number of physical therapists worked with Dad. They were all very respectful, kind, and helpful to him, and each provided us with unique techniques to helping him understand and treat characteristics of his Parkinson's. The speech therapist was very kind, made Dad feel comfortable with her, and worked with him carefully on speech and cognitive issues. It is my impression that these people are both very professional and have a passion for their work. I could not more highly recommend them.
