The mandatory meal program charges people who cannot afford it, and don't want it $190/month. If you get food stamps, they make you pay for the meal program with them, leaving you unable to use them for groceries. The meals are lacking in nutrition, it doesn't matter if your a diabetic, have food allergies, or have special needs.

Outdated HUD mandatory meal program does not meet USDA or any other nutritional requirements, nor is it certified annually by a registered dietitian. Yet, if you seek exemption from the mandatory meal program, with a note signed by your doctor and a detailed description of the healthy diet you require, Park Manor Retirement Apartments and All Pro Flathead Realty property managers ignore you, and continue to charge $190 for the unwanted meals, and threaten to terminate your lease. If you think good food is key to good health, especially as you age or try to manage a progressive disease or disability, don't consider living at Park Manor. Fighting for a healthy diet marks you as a "troublemaker" and adds stress.
